Northamptonshire poet David Garrett and harpist/ composer Nick Penny perform their work both solo and as a duo, mixing spoken word with music in pieces they have specially written.

They celebrate the natural beauty of the Northamptonshire countryside with a truly memorable evening of poetry, harp and birdsong. In the words of an audience member: " I thought the concert was terrific, a really good balance between  musical and spoken rhythms. The combination of harp with voice was wonderful...."

They can arrange their programmes to suit a variety of venues and audiences, performing for 40 or 60 minutes or providing a full evening of two 40 minute halves with an interval.

David Garrett lives in Kettering, and spent much of his working life as a cowman and gardener. He writes nature poetry of genuine warmth and insight.

Nick Penny lives in Oundle, and makes music inspired by the landscape and birdsong of the Nene Valley.

They met through the 2006 Oundle Literature Festival and began to write and perform together. Their new CD grew through a year of seasons, many long walks, and a shared joy in writing about something they really love.
